Renfro
Mark Renfro has been making things with his hands since he could hold a screwdriver. He grew up crawling through attics, fixing things for family, and breaking rules in the best possible way. After a stint in the music world running AV for touring bands and big venues, he brought that same creative fire into home renovation — and never looked back.
He’s a licensed contractor who takes pride in doing things the right way, even when it's harder. Full gut remodels, slat walls, weird angles, custom corners — if it's built, it's built to last. Mark shows up with tools in his truck, not a clipboard.
None of it works without Taylor.
Taylor Renfro is the design engine behind everything we do. She’s a fine artist, a visual strategist, and the one who can walk into a gutted space and see what it wants to become. She shapes the feel of every project — the layout, the flow, the finishes, the soul. She doesn’t just make it pretty. She makes it mean something.
We're also raising three kids while running this thing — which means we live what we build. Our house is loud, creative, and covered in sketches and sawdust. That spirit comes with us into every project.
Renfro Renovation is a studio, not a sales machine. We're based in Powell and work all over Knoxville. We stay small so we can stay sharp — hands-on, detail-obsessed, and fully in it with our clients from start to finish.
If you’re looking for cookie-cutter, there’s plenty of that out there.
If you're looking for something real — let’s build it.
We Live for Projects that Start like This
a napkin sketch, a half-baked idea, a scribble from your kid that somehow feels right.
This one became a full corner build — floating shelves, hidden lighting, all dialed in by hand. No Pinterest template. No prefab. Just vision + sawdust.
If you’ve got something rattling around in your head — we’d love to help you build it.
Let’s make it real. And have fun doing it.

It depends on the scope, materials, and timeline — but we always provide clear, upfront estimates. No vague quotes or surprise costs. You’ll know exactly what you're getting before we swing a hammer.
-
Yes. We provide no-pressure consultations and free written estimates. Fill out the form or text Mark, and we’ll get back to you quickly.
Mark will come and meet you and look at the project, write up a proposal with scope of work and a price range. If you change your mind, no big deal.
-
That depends on your project and our current schedule. Sometimes we can jump in within a week or two, other times we’re booking a bit further out — but we’ll always be honest about our timeline.
-
If it’s something simple and we’ve got room in the schedule, absolutely. Just reach out and we’ll let you know if it’s a fit.
-
Yes. You’ll work directly with Mark and Taylor — no salespeople or layers of bureaucracy. We keep things personal, clear, and professional.
If there is need for a subcontractor, Mark will let you know at the estimate meeting and coordinate appropriately.
All of our subs go through a rigorous qualification process. If they’re working in your home, it’s because we trust them and their work.
-
We’re based in Powell and serve most of the Knoxville area — including Bearden, Fountain City, Farragut, and surrounding neighborhoods.
-
Yes — we love getting involved early. Whether you know exactly what you want or just have a vibe in mind, we can help shape the design and suggest creative, functional solutions.
-
Sometimes, depending on the job. We have a trusted network of licensed, reliable pros we’ve worked with for years — and we stay involved to manage the full process.
